This is a real phone call that my friend had at work last Friday, if you hear it in person it's even funnier.
agent: thankyou for calling verizon tech support this is ___ could I have your dsl phone number please?
cx: gives the number
agent: how may I assist you?
cx: I have a question for you, I can't get a dial tone on this dial up modem.
agent: you have dsl right?
cx: yeah
agent: you probably have never dial a connection checked.
cx: yeah your right.
cx: hey I have another question for you:
agent: ok
cx: last agent told me to contact compaq saying I have a block of spyware in my computer.
agent *looks at notes* yeah then explains what spyware is.
cx: do you like hardware or software?
*agent wonders Oh god where is this call going?*
agent: cracks up laughing.
cx: I'm sorry
agent: well I think we can get you online, let's take a look at some settings, are you at your computer now?
cx: we can't
agent: why not?
cx: because I took my modem and pc apart
agent: why did you do that?
cx: because I was looking for the spy
*agent loses it laughing her ass off, well I suggest you put everything back together and then call us back.
cx: I can't, can't you send someone to help me?
agent: you took it apart now you can put it back the same way.
*end of call*
I mean I heard that and cracked up!

That's funny.
I used to field calls about assistive technology (you know jaws and all) and you would be surprised what people ask or expect. I guess the most common one was for us to troubleshoot their talking book machine.
God thats pretty good. Liked the way the person handled to call.... I sincerly would never ask my technician to answer questions about assistive tech because thats not his job description. But he'll answer anything else.
lol, that's funny!
